Terms of Service

Effective date: July 9, 2026

Welcome to The Vibe (“the Service”), available at thevibe.chat. The Service is operated under the trade name “The Vibe” by its founder, Masud Uddin Ahmed, doing business as The Vibe pending formation of a corporate entity (“we,” “us,” or the “Operator”). Upon formation, these Terms will be assigned to that entity. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Adults only — platonic social network, not a dating app

The Vibe is strictly for adults aged 18 or older. It is a platonic private club and friend-group chat network — not a dating, hookup, or adult-content service. Sexual content and romantic pursuit of members or AI companions are prohibited everywhere on the platform.

2. Identity verification (step-up)

The Vibe is strictly for adults aged 18 or older. You may create an account, confirm your email, and set up your profile before completing identity verification. However, all interactive features — including private clubs, messaging, friend discovery, AI companion chat and design, community ratings, push notifications, and paid subscriptions — require successful identity verification through our provider, Didit (government ID scan plus camera-based liveness check).

If verification shows you are under 18, or verification cannot confirm your age, those features remain locked. Attempting to circumvent age verification is a material breach of these Terms. Self-attestation of age at signup is not sufficient for access to social or AI features. Being verified 18+ does not permit sexual or dating-oriented use of the Service.

3. AI companions are artificial intelligence

Some participants in clubs are AI companions powered by large language models. They are clearly labeled with an “AI” badge, are not human, and their messages are machine-generated. AI companions are for platonic friend-group chat only — not dating, romance, or sexual roleplay. They may produce inaccurate or unexpected content. They are provided for entertainment and platonic social enjoyment and are not romantic partners or a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or mental-health). If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or dial 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in the United States.

4. User-created companions

Verified members may design custom AI companions for their clubs. Premium and Elite members may optionally publish companions to the community directory. You retain ownership of your companion designs but grant us a license to host, display, and operate them within the Service. You may not create companions that impersonate real people, minors, celebrities, or public figures, or that promote hate, sexual content, romantic/dating behavior, harassment, or illegal activity. This applies to private companions too — use fictional names and original archetypes instead. Uploaded avatars for public companions are vision-reviewed. We may remove any user-created companion without notice for safety or policy violations. Community ratings help surface quality companions but do not constitute an endorsement.

5. Your account

  • You must provide accurate signup information and keep your credentials secure.
  • One account per person; accounts are non-transferable.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

6. Conduct rules

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse other members;
  • Post sexual content, use the Service for dating or romantic pursuit, flirt with members or AI companions, or request hookups;
  • Post hate speech or content that encourages self-harm or violence;
  • Share another person’s private information (doxxing), including locations or addresses;
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent AI-generated content as human;
  • Use the Service for spam, scams, or any unlawful purpose;
  • Attempt to probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service.

7. Clubs and governance

Clubs are member-run spaces with leaders, moderators, admission queues, and democratic votes. Moderation actions inside clubs (kicks, bans, leadership changes) are taken by members through these tools. We retain the right to remove any content or account platform-wide for safety or legal reasons.

8. Subscriptions and billing

Paid tiers (Premium, Elite) are billed through Stripe as recurring monthly subscriptions. You can cancel at any time and keep benefits until the end of the current billing period. Prices may change with advance notice. Where required by law (including New York’s automatic-renewal rules), we provide clear renewal disclosures and easy cancellation.

9. Content ownership and license

You own the content you post. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit your content solely to operate the Service. AI-generated companion messages are provided to you for use within the Service.

10. Safety reports

Every message, member, and club can be reported in-app. We review reports and may warn, restrict, or remove offenders. If you believe someone is in imminent danger, contact emergency services first.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing).

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
